Job Description:
Product Page Formatting Assistant
Office Administration | Product Page Formatting | Remote | Full-time or part-time | 28.25–30.00 per hour
Some product pages are ready in substance but need careful entry into an online content system. This role takes approved names, descriptions, and supplied details and places them in the correct fields. You will preview the result, flag missing information, and send the page for the employer’s review. You are not asked to invent product claims, set prices, or publish changes without permission.
From supplied copy to a readable page
- Open the assigned product record and approved source material.
- Enter the title, description, and provided details in their proper fields.
- Preserve supplied spelling, measurements, and approved wording.
- Check paragraph breaks, headings, and list formatting in preview.
- Flag a missing image, price, or detail rather than supplying one yourself.
- Save the draft status and refer it for the required review.
A source document might include a short description, a longer feature list, and a note that one detail is still pending. Place what has been approved, keep the pending item visible, and avoid making the page appear final when it is not. If a product has several similar versions, check the identifier before entering text. A correct description on the wrong item is still a serious error.
What your final check covers
Look at the actual preview, not only the editing fields. Confirm that text has not been cut off, broken into awkward lines, or attached to the wrong page. If a link or image cannot be verified with the information given, report the issue to the content owner. Keep a record of which version you checked so a later correction is not confused with an earlier draft.
The position combines office administration accuracy with customer service awareness: shoppers rely on clear, correct details when choosing a product. You should be comfortable moving between browser tabs, comparing supplied copy, and following a simple approval process. Experience in customer service, office administration, ecommerce, or data entry is useful but not required. The team can introduce its editor and page conventions to a careful newcomer.
Formatting can change the meaning of a page even when every word is copied correctly. A measurement placed under the wrong variant, an unordered feature list turned into one paragraph, or a missing line break can confuse a visitor. Compare the preview with the approved source and note exactly where it differs. If supplied material contains contradictory details, hold the page for the content owner rather than choosing the version that reads better. Keep the original information available for review.
After an editor returns a correction, recheck the affected section and any adjacent field that may have shifted. Mark the version you reviewed so the team knows which page state your note describes.
This remote work can be done in a suitable computer workspace; a home office may help with focused comparisons. The employer will confirm any specific tools and hours for the actual role.
When product text is divided across tabs or variants, verify each section in its own preview. Saving one field does not prove that a different field kept its formatting or approved details.
Formatting changes should preserve the approved facts. Check that headings, lists and links display well on a computer and a narrower screen without altering price, product claims or eligibility wording. A supplied image may have the wrong file name or be missing alt text; record the issue for the content owner if an approved replacement is not available. After a permitted change, preview the page and verify the live result where your access allows. The role supports publishing accuracy and does not include inventing marketing claims.
Application details
Your application can show careful typing, document formatting, or experience comparing a finished page with approved information. You do not have to know a particular website platform. People new to digital content roles are welcome if they can follow instructions and check their work.
If you’re selected for the next step, you may be asked to complete an application on the hiring company’s website. The client will confirm the product information and approval steps for the opening.
